Some Armedmen at the weekend demolished a building at the Nigeria High Commission in Accra ,Ghana.
In a statement issued in Accra, The Paramount Chief of the OsuTraditional Area and President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI said that the property demolished belonged to an individual who was hiding under the political influence of the Nigerian High Commission.
According to the statement, The parcel of land situated at West Ridge in the Greater Accra Region of the Republic of Ghana belonged to the Osu Stool and as such it is only the stool that has the mandate to grant lease be it expired or otherwise.
The statement said the stool was informed that the structure was being erected by a Nigerian business person with the aid of the Nigerian High Commission and was forcibly trying to take over the said parcel of land which is planned entertainment complex to be used as events centre for commercial purposes.
The stool it said invited the trespassing Nigerian for dialogue which proved abortive.
Meanwhile Ghana has expressed regrets over the demolition of the property under construction at the NIgerua High Commission in Ghana
Ghana Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional lntegratiion said investigation are ongoing to unravel the cause of the problem and bring perpetrators to book.
The Nigeria Government had demanded urgent action from Ghana over the attack .
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema sait the attacks violated the Vienna Convention.
