The Secretary General of the NUT,Dr Mike Ike Ene who disclosed this to newsmen said government has not
given them the full assurance to go back to class because the government has not gone round the schools to see if there are Isolation centres and other measures that would guarantee the safety of teachers and Children.
He said that no teacher in his right senses would want to die and nobody would want to use his or child as a guinea pig because it is only those that are alive that can talk about keeping hope alive
Ene explained that the government guidelines on reopening of schools should have been followed up with corresponding action as he made it known that teachers are ready to go to the class if the government showed commitment for them to resume.
