Governor Aminu Masari on Thursday led Residents of Katsina State to seek divine intervention to the menace of banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling in the state.
The three day programme was held in a jumat mosque in the state capital with a mamoth crowd in attendance.
Stakeholders described the initiative as a step in the right direction towards ending criminality in the state.
Katsina State has been on the spotlight for acts of lingering criminal activities.
Protests were organised to attract government attention to the issue of insecurity in the state.with a view to finding lashing solution to the problems.
The President who is an indigene of Katsina State had blamed the problem of insecurity on some emirs who because of personal gain give information to bandits and frustrste the effort of government in ensuring peace and security of lives in the state.
Seemingly not satisfied with the effort of the security forces to bring criminals under control, the president gave them a marching order which required them to perform.
On Wednesday, the Chief of Army staff General Burutai addressed Katsina Residents and assured them of their commitment to enhancing peace across the country.
