Nigeria’s most dreaded armed insurgency Boko Haram has killed two civilians including a 5year old child.
The insurgents also damaged a United Nations (UN) helicopter in the town of Damasaki in Northeast City of Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.
UN coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallan said several others were injured in the attack by Boko Haram.
Kallan said that following the attack which he noted were targeted at Aid workers, the UN is suspending rotational flights for one week to discuss with government partners and conduct new risk assessment.
The Helicopters he said provide a vital link carrying personal and delivery aid to an estimated 7.8 million people in urgent need of assistance across North East of Nigeria.
Insurgency in the North East birthed in the North Eastern Eastern State of Maiduguri in 2009 with the aim of establishing an Islamic State.
