President Muhammadu Buhari has affirmed the suspension of Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, and has approved the appointment of EFCC Director of Operations Mohammed Umar as his successor.

Magu was arrested on Monday following allegations of Corruption and gross misconduct raised against him by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami,
He is currently facing Presidential Panel led by a former Appeal Court Judge, Justice Ayo Salami.
Magu was said to have properties in foreign countries including the United Arab Emirates,he was also alleged to have diverted recovered looted fund’s and sold properties belonging to the Federal Government without remitting the money to government coffers
Some EFCC staff are also being quizzed by the panel.
