The Senate says the excuse given by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Aminu Bisalla that Akpabio was attending to some national issues when he was invited to provide an update on the forensic audit he is supervising at the NDDC was unacceptable
The Chairman of the Senate ad hoc Commitee,Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi, condemned Akpabio for failing to acknowledge or respond to any of his Commitee”s invitation.
Adetumbi expressed disappointment that the Minister who was a former colleague and knew the working of the Senate would ignore the panel”s letters of invitation.
The Senate l ad-hoc Commitee had invited Akpabio to attend an investigative public hearing on the alleged misappropriation of funds by the Interim Management Committee of the the Niger Delta Development Commission within the last 3months.
