National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu appears to be swimming in bad tide as his preferred choice for the Ondo State gubernatorial election Segun Abraham was disqualified by the screening committee.
The APC screening committee led by Tijani Tumsa had said that the committee screened 12 aspirants out of which one disqualified.
He said that all the aspirants were screened based on their presentations, educational qualifications and only one failed to meet up with the requirements set by the party.
Tumsa said “ Of the 12 aspirants fit for the election, the committee has seemed it possible to qualify eleven of the aspirants to contest for the primary. We understand of course that the 12th aspirant has the option of appealing the decision of the committee.”
“We commenced the screening exercise two days ago. There were twelve aspiirants in all and I’m glad to report that they all showed up for the exercise and we were able to conduct the screening within the two days stipulated.”
The incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu was among the eleven what scaled through the screening.
With the screening successful, and Tinubu’s man disqualified, the coast appears clear for Akeredolu on his march to retain his office.
