The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund NSITF has a new management following the suspension of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the find,Adebayo Somefun and other management staff.
Kelly Nwagba, former General Manager,Health Safety and Environment, has been appointed as Acting Chairman of the trust fund.
Addressing staff of the NSITF on his inauguration Nwagba urged staff to prioritise the core values of the NSITF which is prevention of workplace accidents,injuries and disabilities, rehabilitation and compensation.
He said that the objectives are if properly applied, would boost employee”s morale and Productivity would be greater with more profits accruing to the employer.
Nwagba disclosed that the new management would modify a few of its activities to increase the number of enrolees into the scheme to boost the finances of the Fund.
According to him, the welfare of staff would be given the priority it deserves just as the Minister of Labour and Employment,Dr Chris Ngige desired it
He sued for cooperation of staff with the new management and adding that the management would welcome constructive criticism.
Speaking on the occasion , the President of ASSIBIFI, NSITF branch,Gbagbong Auta Mamfa expressed the union”s readiness to work with the new management especially in the area of staff welfare
The suspended management team are to face an investigative Audit Panel to look into financial breaches in the NSITF.
