The Nigerian Medical Association, (NMA) has advised Nigerians to stop visiting hospitals except for life threatening issues to avoid contacts with covid-19.
The NMA also warned against frequent visits to patients in the hospital . This is because every patient is a potential covid-19 case
The Chairman of the Kwara State Branch of the Union , Dr Kolade Solagberu made this known while briefing newsmen on Monday in Ilorin ahead of the association’s 2020 Annual General Meeting.
Solegberu asked residents to disregard the belief that covid-19 was not real and was only a money making avenue pointing out that 35 doctors have so far tested positive in Kwara state.
He however noted that the association had not recorded any fatality among the members.
He said ” For now, people should avoid visiting the hospital except for life threatening issues.
” We advise people to engage in e-health service instead of physical consultation to avoid contact as much as possible.
