Agriculture Minister,Sabo Nanono, disclosed this in Tofai Community in Kano, on Monday during the flag off of the 2020 wet season adoption of improved production techniques among rice farmers.
He said no fewer than 2.4million farmers are expected to benefit from the loan which has zero interest.
According to him, registration of farmers have begun and the ministry would capture their information, number of farms they have and their locations.
He said “Any beneficiary will be monitored, because we want to make sure that you utilise the opportunity so that by next year, other people will also be self reliant through you”.
Nanono said the loan would support farmers and boost the Agricultural sector
He commended the APPEALS project for supporting rice farmers in the state and appealed to beneficiaries of support items to make good use of them
Support items included urea,NPK fertilizer, varieties of rice seeds and treasure machine
