Gbene Joi Nunieh, Immediate past Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC has said that Nigerians are being deceived by reports of a presidential forensic audit going on in the NDDC saying that there is none going on.
Nunieh who made presentation to the House of Representatives Panel on the NDDC, via zoom alleged that in respect of the forensic audit of the Commission,9 names of companies were sent to her from the office of the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio,to carry out forensic audit of the Commission , she however, found out that all nine names in the list sent by Akpabio were not known audit firms in the country contrary to the constitutionally required protocol of getting a list of forensic auditing firms from the Auditor General of the Federation.
She alleged that the Minister stole files belonging to the Commission when the verification exercise of the Commission began adding that the Minister also proposed oath taking with her and threatened her as well as her ethnic nationality if she failed to do his bidding.
On account of that ,she called on the Nigerian Police Force to launch an investigation into the allegations and charge him in accordance with the criminal code ACT.
