Two armed robbers have been killed while 28 other suspects in various crimes have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command.
The state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo disclosed this on Thursday while briefing the media on the Command’s ‘modest’ achievements.
He said that the Command arrested 15 suspects for alleged armed robbery, while 6 were arrested for alleged cultism.
The Police Commissioner said two suspected armed robbers were shot dead by the Command while exhibits recovered include two cut to size guns,25 live ammunition and three cartridges.
Others are,one vehicle and the sum of N 385,000.
He said that on July 16,at about 12 30am, armed robbers numbering eight stormed Amagba Community, where residents were robbed of numerous valuables.
“Information got to the Police and in collaboration with the vigilance men, engaged the hoodlums in a shootout.
“Two of them died from gunshot injuries sustained during the shootout on their way to the hospital, while the third was arrested alive.”
He said the command recovered from the robbers,one live cartridge,one expended cartridge,14 assorted handsets,and one memory card.
Other items recovered were one string of traditional beads, one wrist watch and one Jack knife.
