Police have arrested the alleged mastermind of explosion in Abule-Ado in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Yusuf popularly called Prince,is said to be the leader of a dreaded criminal gang that has been terrorising residents of Abule-Ado,Abule-Osun and envrons.
Police said the suspect is one of the sons of a self acclaimed traditional ruler in the area.
According to the Police, his arrest was effected on Saturday at Satellite town following months of manhunt and discreet investigation by Police from Area E Command,Lagos State Police Command adding that he was arrested when he launched a fresh attack on some residents of the area.
It was gathered that the Suspect and his gang stormed a warehouse in Abule-Osun with the intention of extorting money from the owner but the attempt was resisted resulting in crisis.
The Police were said to be on high alert as the Area Commander of Festac Police Area Command,ACP Halilu Muawiya quickly swung into action by ordering the Divisional Police Officer in Charge of Satellite Police Station,CSP Chike to personally lead a team to end the crisis.
Yusuf and his gang were said to have subjected residents to harassment, extortion of valuables and killing and was the cause of several deadly encounters with the Police which led to his being declared wanted by the Police in 2019
The gang was said to have same last year,abducted six police officers who were sent from the Forces headquarters to the area for surveillance, tortured them before carting away their weapons.
