The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday recommended the sack of Service Chiefs over increasing wave of insecurity in the country.
The resolution of the Upper house followed a motion sponsored by Ali Ndume, Chairman Senate Committee on the Army, representing Borno South.
The Service Chiefs are,Tukur Burutai,Chief of Army staff, Gabriel Olonisakin,Chief of Defense Staff,Sadique Abubakar,Chief of Air Staff and Ibok-Ette Ekwe,Chief of Naval Staff.
Last week, the military saw mass resignation of officers for reasons that may not be unconnected to insecurity to welfare.. There have been allegations of sabotage, and rising incidents of killing of soldiers in recent times.The soldiers who by their training should protect the territorial integrity of the nation are daily exposed to assymetrical warfare.
There were calls for sack of the Service Chiefs in the past but the Presidency thought otherwise and kept them.
