No fewer than 16 persons have been abducted by bandits in two Communities in Niger State.
The hoodlums who were said to be about 21 , stormed Magani and Tungan-Bako Communities in Rafi Local Government Area of the state about 11 o’clock in the morning when most of the people were in their farms.
It was learnt that a driver to a member of the state House of Assembly,two women and their children were among those kidnapped.
Eyewitness account revealed that the kidnappers entered the villages on motorbikes, shot sporadically into the air to scare the people and then moved from house to house and exhorted valuables from the people.
They were also said to have rustled several head’s of cattle
It was gathered that the last time Bandits stormed Kagara, which was May 16, the combined efforts of the police and the vigilante group in the area,dealth with them and 9 of the bandits were killed as a result.
However the police in the state are yet to confirm the incident as at the time of going to press but the Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA confirmed the incident to newsmen
