The Governor of Borno State,Babagana Zulum has faulted the claim by the Nigerian Army that it has reoccupied major towns and villages in the North East state of Borno following an attack on his convoy by Insurgents on Wednesday.
Zulum was said to be on his way to Baga for a programme when the attack occurred.
An obviously angry governor confronted a commanding officer over their repeated claim of wiping out Insurgents in the area regretting the inability of the Army to rid Insurgents in Baga and its envrons.
However, the commanding officer maintained the Army’s stance that there is no Boko Haram in the Area” There is no Boko Haram inside the town” he said
Unconfirmed sources allege the people in Baga still live in fear as Insurgents roam freely stressing that the attack on the governors convoy is a pointer that the Insurgents are still very much around adding “no one is safe’
