A man believed to be terrorising students of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede,Owerri living in lodges off campus, was caught stealing in the early hours of Friday.
It was learnt that the thief who is alleged to be an indigene of Umuerim was caught at about 4am stealing a generator set from lodge called”Famous House” at Umuofocha in South Africa, Nekede.
Eyewitness account revealed that a man called Kofi saw him stealing the generator and pursued him.He was brought back to the lodge and the students were informed about the development.
The students were said to have tied him like a goat with rope and then proceeded to give him the beating of his life.
The students are also said to have vowed to make the thief carry the generator set on his head and walk around the community.
The alleged thief they said stole valuables such as phones, wristwatches and clothes.
They said that after drilling him,they would hand him over to the vigilante in the community for further punishment.
