
The Enugu State Government on Friday, retaliated the demolition of the 2km Akanu Ibiam Airport Fence by one John Emejulu.
Emejulu was a few days ago, alleged to have destroyed the fence erected by the Federal Government on his land at Phase IV of Airport Road Layout, Enugu.
The Minister of Aviation Hadi Sariki, had on Wednesday said Emejulu went with bulldozers and army thugs to demolish the public property.
The property was meant to be inaugurated on August 30, 2020,
However, the Enugu State Government has based on a court order in what it claimed” the property was cited on a waterway,” demolished Emejulu’s duplex located at Trans Ekulu.
It was gathered that the Enugu State High Court had in 2017,given judgement in favour of Emejulu against the Federal Government on the said Airport land.
Similarly,an order of mandamus was said to have been granted by Justice J.L.C Okibe, in June 2020,mandating the police to prosecute anyone who obstructed the judgement.
