Lu-e -be and Lorre communites in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State between Monday and Tuesday came under attack of gun wielding persons suspected to be cultists who killed two chiefs and 3 others in the communites.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked Lu-e -be and killed the Chief for what they said was” his preference for a particular cult group against the other whenever trouble arose.
A source who spoke to current matters, revealed that the community is cult infested with Icelanders and Degbam as dominant cult groups
The source said that cult clashes in the community are common and whenever rival groups clash and they are arrested, the deceased chief of Lu-ebe Chief Neeka Alumaa would bail one group and leave the other group in police custody . This was said to have infuriated the cultists reportedly Icelanders who mobilised and went on a shooting spree in the community and killed the Chief and 3 others.
The Lorre killing came a day after the attack in the neigbouring community of Lu–e-be where unidentified gunmen believed to be suspected cultists also killed a Young Chief popularly called “Ajeboy”
According to the source,Lorre also has a handful of cult activities which made people sent on transfer there to either seek reposting or go to work from Bori, headquarters of the local government area.
The killing in Lorre was said to have been caused by rumours of the death of a cult leader whom the cultists claimed to be
alive.The cultists fingered the community as being responsible for the rumour mill and the happiness it generated and shot the chief in the process.
The source who pleaded anonymity said following incessant cult activities in the area leading to killing,raping and disrespect for elders as well asconstitutional authorities, parents have sent their younger children away to Port Harcourt to live instead of their lives being cut short by cultists.

” I was born here” went to school here, I have never seen this type of thing.the cultists have informants all over the place,they report even mere whispers to them and they will come for your head.
” No body goes to the farm anymore, who will go to the farm,” when you go to farm and come back,count yourself lucky if you take anything home because you may lose it to them.Our daughters used to go to farm ,but we have sent them out.Let them go to Port Harcourt and stay instead of them to stay here and they are molested and we can’t even raise our voices .”
” Garri that used to be N1500 per basin now is N5000, and we don’t know what to do. The people who used to go to farm and uproot cassava and make garri have left the villages We don’t know when this boys will change.”
“It’s difficult for someone in the community to advise or preach to those boys, They are outlaws.Did you know that last year a man from the community who was born again pastor preached in open air that cultists should repent from their wicked ways? As he finished preaching and went back to his house, the cultists went and killed him for daring them We live in fear. We want security to help us “
Although reports indicate that the police in the local government area are aware of the two incidents, the State Police Public Relations Office had said he was yet to be briefed.
