Nigerian troops deployed for “Operation Delta Safe” have intercepted a speed boat with kidnapped 13 foreigners comprising 6 Russians and 7 Ukrainians on Lome waters.
The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations Major General John Enenche, made this known in his update of the Armed Forces Operations in August 2020, disclosed that 137 criminals including Boko Haram terrorists and Islamic State West Africa Province,(ISWAP) and armed bandits were killed and 170 arrested.
According to him, the boat was arrested on August 19,2020, by the Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH,under the subsidiary, “Operation Silent Heat”which was launched on August 1,2020.
Enenche explained that the”Operation Silent Heat” is aimed to protect critical installations,in vital points as well as combat crimes and all forms of illegalities with a view to maintaining conducive environment for oil and gas industies as well as accelerate the growth of other economic activities.
