The Islamic State-backed Boko Haram faction has reportedly killed no fewer than 20 soldiers in separate atacks, while several others are missing.
According to reports, the fighters, on trucks fitted with machine guns overan a military position in Magumerii late on Tuesday, killing about 10 soldiers injuring five while they also burnt vehicles including armoured tanks at the base.
A repeated attack was said to have taken place on Wednesday at Garin Riwa village in Kukawa Local Government Area of the state by a notorious Jihadist known as Umar Lene who led two other Boko Haram commanders to attack Nigerian troops stationed in the town killing about 10. The Insurgents reportedly made away with gun trucks they took from the troops who were on a routine patrol when they were attacked.
