Police in Rivers arrest woman who kills nursing mothers and sell their babies

Men of the Nigerian Police Force have arrested a 68 year old woman,Mary Ishmael, and one Chinedu Nwachuku, for allegedly killing a new mother and selling her baby for N350,000 in Igwuruta, Rivers State.

Nwachukwu 23, was arrested by men of 48 PMF who were on stop and search duties at Omerelu Nipping Point near Owerri,Imo State,with a five months old baby and could not explain how he came about the infant but
later confessed to have stolen the baby after killing the mother and pushing the body in a pit in an uncompleted building.

The Police said the suspects were also responsible for the disappearance of a single- nursing mother,Chinonye Queen Uzoma, and her three months old daughter who have been declared missing for several weeks

Nwachukwu, according to the police, said that he killed Uzoma, disposed her body in a forest and sold her baby to Ismael for N250,000.

The suspect disclosed that Ishmael sends him to snatch babies from their mothers after killing
them He said,”after killing the first woman, Isold her baby to this woman (pointis to his accomplice) for N250,000 and she resold the baby to another woman in Benin for N350,000.”
