Youths of Sankera, three of the seven local government areas comprising the Senatorial district of Gabriel Suswam, have asked the Senator to withdraw his statement on notorious gang leader,Terwase Akwara a.k.a Gana ,with an apology.
The Youths under the umbrella, Sankera Youth Forum ( SYF) whose communites were worst affected by Gana,s criminal activities stated that the remarks by the ex-governor mourning Gana comes as a slap on the faces of not only the people who stood by him in his period of need but desecrated the graves of the innocent people killed by Gana in Benue and neighbouring states
In a statement issued in Katsina-Ala on Friday by its Interim president Mark Orshi, the SYP said for daring to mourn Gana as he publicly did, and attempting to question security agents on Gana’s killing, Suswam has undermined his status as leader .
According to the group,”Suswam’s comment over the demise of Gana in whatever manner is sacrilegious and only establishes the extent the Senator has devalued the entire community of Sankera adding that it has cross – checked the records again and again but could not find anywhere they have wronged the Senator “to warrant this shameful jubilation over the years of satanic bloodletting ,massacres and carnages on our land masterminded by Gana and his arrmed group with torch boldness”
Suswam had condemned the killing of Gana by the military on Tuesday.and in reaction, the SYF has described the statement by the Senator as not only nauseating but horrible and mindless abuse of the priviledges and the mandate entrusted to the Senator by the people of Sankera and other brethren across the Senatorial district.
