Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has described the ruling All Progressives Congress APC,as a party in disarray where members are always fighting is the order at the state and at the national level.
Tambuwal who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum, said that the APC, against their constitution, unlawfully dissolved their National Working Committee which further portrayed the party as one in a state of confusion .
The governor said for doing so,the party is incapable of governing the state or the nation as they have proven so
According to him, the party since inception has not constituted a board of trustees goes to confirm that APC is not a choice for Ondo State and any other political party for Ondo State other than the PDP.
Tambuwal said the APC had promised to fight corruption and secure lives and property but noted that the party is found wanting in such areas
On the economy, the governor said ” instead of the ruling party at this time of covid-19 to bring succour and relief to the people of Nigeria by way of economic rejuvenation, and providing palliatives,they are unleashing hardship on the people by removing fuel subsidy and increasing electricity tarriffs” adding that the timing is very wrong.
He assured the people of Ondo State that the election will be the commencement for reclaiming the country from total collapse and restructuring .
Tambuwal described the PDP candidate, Ehitayo Jegede as a gentleman per excellence who the people should vote for the good of the state.
In his address, the National Chairman of the PDP,Uche Secondus said APC cannot rig the election as doing so will incur the wrath of the people.
He urged President Buhari to ensure that the elections are free fair and credible so that history will remember him.
The Chairman of the PDP campaign council for Ondo election,Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State said the governorship election on October 10 was a matter of choice for the people of Ondo to either choose a life of servitude or liberation.
Makinde said Ondo State is the sunshine state but what the people get is candle adding that for the sunshine to be back in the state they have the duty to turn out enmasse on October 10 and cast their votes for Jegede.
Delivering his speech after receiving his flag presented to him by Secondus, the candidate of the PDP, Jegede said his election would usher in economic
growth, and there would be employment for the youtbs as industries will flourish which would make the people of the state joyful.
He expressed optimism that the APC government in the state will be defeated at the polls as he said’ He will pack and leave the government house for us” apparently referring to his major challenger in government house.
