Abu Dan-Tabawa ,an ally of former governor of Zamfara State,Abdulaziz Yari ,,has been arrested by the police in the state after he reportedly held a secret meeting with people believed to be bandits.
Dan-Tabawa’s arrest followed an intelligence report extracted from a CCTV camera installed by Governor Bello Matawalle across Gusau metropolis.
The Command spokesman, Mohammed Shehu, in a statement on Sunday,confirmed his arrest along 17 others but said it was not politically motivated.
According to him, the arrest was an intelligent driven and proactive action by the state police command to prevent a possible breach of public peace and ensure that the state continues to enjoy the relative peace that its been enjoying in recent time
The statement therefore warned all citizens of the state irrespective of political affiliation,their status in society to desist from actions that breach public safety and security .
The suspect is reportedly undergoing interrogation at the command headquarters in Gusau,theZamfara state capital.
