The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 has expressed fear thst the measures it put in place for international travellers were not being adhered to as some travellers arrived the country with negative Covid-19 check outcomes while they indeed tested positive.
The national coordinator of the task force,Dr Aliyu Sani made this known when he along with members of the PTF,appeared before the Joint Senate Commitee on Health and Aviation on the testing procedures following the reopening of the international airspace.
According to him, when the Taskforce began the evacuation flights, the arrangement was that the people coming into the country might want to have a negative Covid-19 PCR outcome with the check validity put on the time in seven days.
Sani said that their had been indications from an international location from where it had as much as 40% of the passengers within the single flight coming in with a negative Covid-19 PCR outcome and subsequently being examined and found positive
He said the check outcomes introduced by inbound travellers can not be trusted as he stated that 13 international locations have been recognised to have vacationers with faux Covid-19 check outcomes
Sani added that the federal government has written to the embassies to correct the anomaly ..
