Obaseki says his re-election will engender growth of Edo
The re-elected governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki says his second term in office along with his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, will make Edo great again.
Obaseki who made this known in his acceptance speech in Benin City, the Edo State capital,afer the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, declared him winner having polled the most votes.

The governor thanked God for his victory and commended the president for allowing free and credible election in the country
The governor also acknowledged the capacity of INEC in conducting credible elections and praised his colleague governors and his party, the PDP for giving him not only a platform to regain his mandate but support him all the way through hardwork.
“We thank God Almighty and give him all the glory for this victory.Thank you President Muhammadu Buhari for defending democracy and allowing INEC and the security services to perform their constitutional functions without interference.
“INEC and the security services have shown Nigerians and the world indeed that they are capable of conducting free and credible elections.
The governor saluted supporters who he said displayed courage in the face of threats, intimidation and brutalization. Stressing” the collective will of Edo people made it possible for us to triump over godfatherism.”
He said the success achieved at the polls is a pointer that collectively, there is nothing they cannot achieve as a people.
“Iam eternally grateful to my party ,the People’s Democratic party PDP and my brother governors not only for giving us the umbrella, during our political storm, but for the hardwork which has brought me back to office.
“Our success has reinforced my believe that there is nothing we cannot achieve as a people if we pull forces together and collectively call on God for support.
In inconclusion, I reiterate to all of you today that working with my deputy, the right honourable, Philip Shuaibu,we are committed to make Edo great again.”He said
