Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC ,Adams Oshiomhole, has debunked claims that he is unhappy about the outcome of the election saying he remains not only strong and healthy but feels good and thank God.
In a viral video on Wednesday, Oshiomhole remarked” In life you work hard and leave God for the outcome .You do your best and trust God to bless your efforts . I feel good,I feel strong, thank God.In life, you win some and you lose some but life goes on”
The former APC boss said he was encouraged by the determination of the aged and nursing mothers who defied all odds including the harsh weather to cast their votes.
According to him,if the elderly were not frustrated and didn’t give up even when the card readers were not working, he also will not give up
“If Septuagenarians were not frustrated because their card readers are not working,it inspired me that if at their age they don’t give up, why should I give up?
He enjoined Nigerians to have faith in God and the icountry and make it great no matter the outcome of an election
“This is our country and we must make it great,We must strengthen democracy,we must improve on it. No matter the outcome of an election,or a particular edition of a process, have faith in God and have faith in our country”
Oshiomhole had thrown his weight behind the candidate of the APC, Osagie Ize-iyamu against Godwin Obaseki, incumbent governor and winner of the governorship election conducted on September 19 2020.
In the results declared on Sunday, September 20,2020, Obaseki polled 307,955 to defeat his closest rival, Ize-iyamu of the APC who got 223,619 votes.
Obaseki had in his acceptance speech invited his former boss and mentor to join him to further the progress of Edo State.
