Tukur Makau,President,Arewa Youths for Peace, has called for the arrest and prosecution of former Zamfara State Governor, Abdul Aziz Yari for allegedly aiding and abetting crimes during his tenure as Governor of Zamfara State.
Tukur said If the government of President Buhari could disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS,) following a nation -wide protest, that he saw no reason why Yari should not be arrested and made to face trial for the large number of lives lost during his administration .
Tukur made this call in Lafia, the Nassarawa State Capital when he paid official visit to the State Chapter Chairman of Arewa for Peace, Mr. John Ibrahim .
Malam tukur advised Ibrahim to maintain peace and always report any possible breach of peace to the relevant authorities to avoid destruction of lives and properties as was the case in Zamfara under the immediate past administration of the state.
According to the Youth leader ,the widows and children orphaned by the infamous administration of Yari are not relenting in their demand for justice from the former governor and are asking the federal government to identify with their plight by bringing all perpetrators of Zamfara killings to face the wrath of law.
