Markets deserted,shops locked down in Abuja for fear of being attacked
by hoodlums after Jumat prayers on Friday.
On Thursday, there was uneasy movement around the Gudu area after a man said to be a cultist was killed by a rival group.
Current matterrs took a tour of parts of Abuja particularly the markets and plazas and discovered that they were deserted by the owners of shops for fear of attacks.
A passerby who appeared in a hurry to leave a cab stand in Garki Area 3 disclosed that a disturbing message had been circulated through the social media about an impending attack by armed northern youths on reprisal mission.
Some schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) a few days ago asked parents and guardians to pick their children and wards from school until the #EndSARS protest and the violence accompanying it is over.
Streets in the capital territory are lonely unlike pre#EndSARS days when heavy traffic was the order, day and night.
Locations such as Lokogoma,Apo,Gudu, Gaduwa,Garki and satellite towns like Bwari,Karu and Nyanya are also on red alert as residents preferred to stay home till early next week.
Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari in a nation-wide broadcast warned that government would not tolerate any act that undermine the unity of the country.
But the thunderous threats of further breakdown of law and order making the rounds and fear of the unknown , it is difficult to tell what tomorrow will be.
