Kaduna State Government has said that consumption of expired drugs and prohibited foods looted from warehouses in Narayi,Barnawa and Kakuri poses serious threat to health.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this after youths in the state followed their counterparts in other parts of the country to forcefully take their own share of the government covid palliatives.
He quoted the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration NAFDAC,as saying that,”all those who will consume such items are at risk of serious illness and death.
According to him, the management of a food processing company, whose stores were looted in Kakuri had also sent a note of warning that the stolen grains are unsafe for consumption as they were sprayed with chemicals to preserve them
Aruwan while urging residents to be vigilant about the source of food and medications they consume, he appealed to the public to expose looters to save the lives of the people.
