As votes continue to trickle in from swing states that would determine winner of the 2020 United States election, the path to victory becomes narower and clearer between the two candidates, Republican candidate, Donald Trump and Joe Biden, candidate of the Democratic party.
As of now,Biden is leading in the states of Arizona with 47,052. Nevada 11,438 and overperforrming in Georgia on the verge of overtaking Trump who has 1,709 votes ahead with thousands of votes underway.
Biden is leaving no stone unturned in overtaking Trump in Pennsylvania.Trump has 18,229 lead over Biden but the number of votes outstanding in the state which are from the Democrats strongholds gives a clearer picture of likely winner of the election.
Biden whose electoral votes stand at 253 has broader chances of winning as he is expected to either take the 20 electoral votes from Pennsylvania to make the required 270 votes or go in the direction of Georgia with 16 votes and pick Nevada’s 6 to emerge winner. The former Vice President also have a window of victory in Arizona which has 11 votes to combine with Nevada’s 6.
As the votes are still being counted and uploaded, the margin of lead changes and becomes more visible.
Observers of the election had given a clean bill of health to the electoral teams across counties although Trump had alleged fraud in some key states he expected to win.
On the basis of alleged fraud, the president had sued states of Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania but the courts dismissed the lawsuits designed to disallow further counting of votes.
From the look of things, the victory door is being shut on Trump and his premature claim to victory and utterances undermining the US electoral process is unstatemanly and further jeopardized whatever sympathy is left if he loses.
