Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma says Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State ,will be joining the All Progressives Congress APC any moment from now.
Uzodinma who told journalists on Monday at the end of a closed door meeting with the chairman of the APC National Caretaker Committee Mai Mala Buni and other members of the Committee at the party secretariat in Abuja, said Umahi had informed the Peoples Democratic Party PDP of his intention to defect to the All Progressives Congress APC.and that, his defection to the ruling party
would form the agenda for the PDP’S NEC meeting scheduled for Thursday.
The governor who explained that he was at the secretariat to contribute to touch base with preparations for the the December 5 Senatorial byelection, said that he made a promise that when he becomes governor, the perception of the APC in the South East will change adding that apart from the Ebonyi governor who is joining the party,other governors would follow suit as talks are underway to welcome them to the party.
Uzodinma said “APC is the ruling party and for the interest of national integration and cohesion,Imo and the South East indeed, need to be part and parcel of the ruling party to make the Nigerian project a complete project”
