A meeting of Federal Government delegation led by the Chief of Staff to the President,Professor Ibrahim Gambari wth South South leaders is currently in progress in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Last week, Stakeholders in the South South region congregated in Port Harcourt to ventilate their views and frustrations on issues bordering on underdevelopment of the region and perhaps raised the stakes ahead for consideration.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the meeting was called off and anger replaced whatever happy moments, the governors’, traditional rulers and youth representatives had.
Leaders of the region immediately asked the federal government to apologise and an apology was given by the federal government citing a security meeting called by Mr President as reason for absence at the South South meeting in Port Harcourt.
