The Deputy Speaker of Ondo House of Assembly has been impeached
Iroju Ogundeji was removed during Tuesday’s plenary for alleged misconduct and abuse of office.
He was immediately replaced by Samuel Aderoboye representing Odigbo Constituency 2 .
Ogundeji was among the 9 lawmakers who failed to sign the impeachment notice served the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi in the build up to the Ondo governorship election.
He was subsequently suspended indefinitely by the House but was later reinstated by a High Court in Akure.
The Ondo House of Assembly is currently controlled by the All Progressives Congress ( APC) following the defection of Ajayi to the Peoples Democratic Party?PDP) and then the Zenith Labour Party, the ZLP.
