Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has directed all cleared contestants in the January 16,2021 local government election in the state to undergo a compulsory drug test.
The decision is to rid the state of illicit drug abuse.
The Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Garba, disclosed this to newsmen at the end of the state Executive Council meeting at the Governmentt House, Kano.
Garba restated the administration’s commitment to tackling drug abuse among political office holders adding that “governmentt would not hesitate to issue appropriate disciplinary measures against anyone found with the trace of illicit substance including a compulsory recommendation for rehabilitation”.
