The Independent Corrupt practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested the Acting Director General of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) Professor Alex Akpa, over allegations of N400million fraud.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Azuka Ogugua on Wednesday, the Commission said Akpa is being investigated to find out how the said amount of money was misappropriated under his watch
The ICPC said Investigations revealed that the money,which the Professor claimed to be an intervention Fund for the agency,was diverted and allegedly shared with top management staff of the agency .
The Anti-graft Commission said the offence is punishable under Sections 19 and 26 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act,2000.
