The House of Representatives in Tuesday’s plenary, passed a resolution to invite President Muhammadu Buhari to brief the House on the true state of the security situation in the country.
The resolution followed a motion moved by members from Borno State on the recent killing of 43 rice farmers in the state by Boko Haram terrorists.
Although no date has been set for the invitation ,reports suggest that it might not be too long
The decision to invite the President initially suffered resistance from the Speaker,Femi Gbajabiamala, who argued that it would be inappropriate to invite the President to disclose the actions being taken to address security challenges in the country describing the move as counter productive.
Gbajabiamala’s defence threw the House into a rowdy session with some members opposing the speaker’s position.
,The issue was resolved after the House went into an executive session
