Opposition Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to account for hundreds of students abducted by gunmen on Friday, at the Governmentt Science Secondary School in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The PDP in a communique by its Spokesman,Kola Olgbondiyan said its reason to align with the people of Katsina to charge the president to account for the whereabout of the students was based on the fact that” the president as Commander in Chief promised to lead from the front,” moreso,”as the large scale abduction happened a few hours after the president and his security machinery took over the state”
The Party regretted that at a time the people of Katsina should have rejoiced because of the presence of the president, “the abduction took place right under his watch and raises further questions over the governmentt’s capacity to fight insurgency”even as it accused the Katsina State government and the President of treating bandits with kid gloves.
This is more worrisome as the state government has been known to have established contacts with,as well as pampering bandits, which Mr President had not condemned .”
