Reports just in say all 344 boys kidnapped by gunmen in Government Science Secondary School in Kankara have been rescued and are on their way to the Katsina State capital
The boys were reportedly rescued by the Nigerian Military on Thursday after spending a week in captivity.
Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari who spoke with CNN said that the boys were abducted by bandits on the fringes of Katsina and Zamfara forest
He said the boys were rescued unconditionally.
Going forward,we have learnt some lessons in terms of security”.he said
Masari had consistently refuted claims that the school boys were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists even as Boko Haram claimed they carried out the abduction and even went ahead to release video clips showing scores of boys in the forest pleading with the Nigerian authorities.
