The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) , has appointed Silas Nwoha as New Editor-in Chief.
Nwoha r succeeds Peter Idonijie Obakhedo, who retired on the 22nd of November,2020.
His appointment takes effect from the 23 rd of November,2020.
Nwoha joined the NAN as a Youth Corp member in 1989, and subsequently gained automatic employment for outstanding performance.
He grew through the ranks of the News Agency becoming Head of Editorial Operations of the Lagos Office of the Agency as well as Acting Head of Lagos Office.
Nwoha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the Lagos State University,Ojo and a Masters Degree in Political Science in the University of Lagos.
The new Editor-in Chief who also holds a post graduate diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism ,Ogba, Ikeja is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School,Pan Atlantic University and participant of the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa . He is married with children.
