A former member of the Nigerian Senate and rights activists, Senator Shehu Sani has lauded the governor of Zamfara State,Bello Matawalle for helping to negotiate the release of the students of Government Science Secondary School, Katsina.
Sani in his Twitter handle said the governor should be appreciated for saving Katsina State and the nation from another Chibok situation . His tweet reads
” The Governor of Zamfara should be appreciated for his reported role in securing the release of the Kankara students. He has saved the nation, Katsina State and the FG from another “Chibokian torment”and “Dapchan trauma” He should not be paid with a bad coin”
On his part, Femi Fani-Kayode said he was proud of the Zamfara State governor even though the governor did not tell him that he was the mastermind of the release of the school boys.
He tweeted” When my brother@Bellomatawalle told me at 8.00 pm last night that the kidnapped schoolboys from Katsina had been freed he did not tell me that he was solely responsible for their release and that he had single- handedly persuaded the terroriss to let them go. Proud of him”
Most Nigerians who spoke with current matters also commended Matawalle for negotiating the release of the boys saying tbe negotiation in whatever form was better than the boys going the way of the Chibok girls.
To them, associating the negotiation with frolicking with bandits should not arise at all adding that if the same measure was employed during the kidnap of the Chibok girls, they would all be released and reunited with their families and those parents who died of shock of abduction of their children would have been alive.
