The former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said that the incumbent governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje could not stand the presence of Emir Sanusi 11 as he always felt diminished and inferior before the Emir due to the knowledge, wisdom, experience and progressive ideals the Emir represents which is why he dethroned him.
Kwankwaso disclosed this through a press statement issued by his aide, Muhammad Inuwa Ali on Tuesday.
Apparently reacting to Ganduje’s comments at the book launch of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Kwankwaso said the reason why Ganduje removed Sanusi was because of the governor’s desperation to obtain a $1 .8billion loan from China to construct light rail which the former Emir criticised.
Kwankwaso said “the governor was one of those who paid glowing tributes to the selection and appointment of Sanusi 11 on 13th June,2014 on a live program on Channels and Freedom Radio.”
Ganduje reportedly said” Sanusi was the best among the candidates to be appointed as Emir of Kano. His wealth of experience as one of the best economists in the world and his trustworthiness is always his weapon. Remember how he exposed billion dollars stolen by some persons under President Jonathan’s administration.”
The former Senator said that “the choice of Sanusi 11 was made among other contestants because he is the most knowledgeable in both Islamic and western education as well as the most experienced and enjoyed a tremendous amount of support and goodwill from the kingmakers, the emirate council and the good people of Kano State.”
Ganduje had publicly humiliated Sanusi at the Jonathan’s book launch in Abuja.as he told a bewildered audience how he gave Sanusi the Jonathan’s treatment.
Sanusi was appointed governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN,)in 2009 and was removed by the Jonathan’s administration after raising alarm over $20billion NNPC scandal
