On the 24th of December every year, friends family and well-wishers gather to celebrate Dame Judith Amaechi because of her spirit of benevolence,her believe in oneness that inspires unity,spurs growth and integration as well as her inclination to help people stand on their own
Dame Judith is simple, humble, unassuming, amiable and graceful woman who has never allowed her priviedged position to get into her head .
Judith is the wife of a two term Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, She is wife of a two term Governor of Rivers State and wife of the Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
In all aspects she is a woman of virtue. Industrious, focused, resilient, praise and prayer- filled , with strong conviction that nothing is impossible with God..
A lover of charity,a friend of the Downtrodden who believes in removing tears from people’s eyes through life bearing skills, and empowerrment for life with the aim of engendering a society of productive and peaceful people
As wife of Speaker,Dame Amaechi introduced various programmes that bordered on skills acquisition .It was an initiative that galvanized patronage of state and local government officials .
As wife of governor,She introduced an action-packed empowerrment programme christened the Empowerrment Support Initiative ( ESI). ESI is an empowerrment-laden Non Governmental Organisation with novel training and empowerrment opportunities for women, youths and children in Rivers and, the 9 states of the Niger Delta. The organisation has trained and empoweed over 5000 in artisanry such as Welding Carpentry, Masonry, Electricity , Plumbing Screeding and Painting, It has also trained and empoweed people in Fashion Design/tailoring and Automobiles.
Dame Judith introduced the first-ever Ladies Cabbie Taxi Scheme in the country The scheme is a distinguished characteristic of her time in the Rivers State Government House.
The Ladies Cabbie Taxi Scheme like other life line programmes she initiated and pursued to logical heights bears testimony of her effort to reduce poverty , capacity to put smiles on people’s faces and raise the hope of many for a better life.
Edna Nwobillor,a woman empowered under the ESI Lady Cabbie Taxi Scheme said” At least some of us who are very grateful can never ever forget what Mrs Amaechi did for us in Rivers State.. We cannot forget it It was something that she did for some of us at the time we were really in need .It was a programme that put food on our table.As at the time she called us rand gave us the vehicles,some of us didn’t have anything at all. When we went and came back with brand new cars, honestly that was something I can never never forget in my life,it helped me and my family. It was like a stepping stone in my life.. I know that God who has blessed her till this day that same God will continue to bless her. That is my prayer for her. I remember her in my prayer always I don’t need to boast,I don’t need to let anybody know, but it is my duty to remember herself and her husband in my prayer.”
Understanding the importance of early education in line with the postulation of UNESCO ” as the holistic development of a child,’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid foundation for lifelong learning and well-being “Judith in 2008 ,initiated the ESI kindergarten schools for children for poor homes . The foundation laying ceremony was performed by the wife of the then President,Hajia Turai Yar Adua.. Today, the ESI is a center for children from diverse backgrounds as its,viision, mission and content are second to none .
At the moment,ESI has 37 permanent structures with over 936 staff and graduated more than 3000 Pupils in Rivers State.
Asita Honourable Asita,APC chiefain and Chairman,NIMASA described Judith as a strong pillar of her husband” I have by have had flawless relationship over the years and she has been such a pillar of support for her husband.
” On this special day of her 50th anniversary,I wish her all the best. I pray that the prayers she has been praying for others, the support she has given to others and blessings to others will come together in one single portion to work for the good of her family.I pray that God will continue to lift her up.”
Judith’s touch of lives across Rivers,Niger Delta and Indeed other parts of the country vibrates with intensity across gender, religion and regions of the country with many lauding her noteworthy gestures in empowerrment and human relations.
Hajia Aisha Gana is a lawyer,chief and staunch member of the All Progressives Congress. To her Mrs Amaechi is a very positive woman who has affected many lives. According to her,she relates to all classes of people irrespective of where they come from and says the sky is the limit for her growth.
Judith is a good sister, good mother who never for once slacked in helping her siblings and Children.
Her Younger brother,Hon Dozie Nwankwo, member representing Anaocha,Njikoka Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives described her as epitome of motherhood, humanity and an angel on earth.
He said her relationship with God and support for fellow human beings is awe- inspiring
“My elder sister,is a mother and knows God There is nothing she does without first seeking the face of God.She is kind hearted and very humble The best I can say on this special day of her 50th birthday is to commit her, her, husband and Children to God to bless them more. Judith is blessed with 3 children all male and the pride of her home. They, like their parents are humble and have the spirit of human kindness.
The golden -woman Judith is married to her husband, Chibuike whom she described as supportive, kind-hearted and groomed her to be the wife she is.
According to her,her marriage to him is divine in the way they met, his good heart, and the support he has given her in praise, worship.and church activities.
