Oyo State Governor,Seyi Makinde has raised the terminal grade level of civil servants to 17.
The governor said he would also attend to outstanding promotions from 2017 to 2020 this year.
Makinde made the announcement at the 2021 Interfaith service held on Wednesday at the state secretariat, Ibadan.
The governor who stated that his government has spent about N9.3 billion to clear the backlog of pensions and gratuities said the state would not relent in priotising the welfare of workers adding that it would not default in regular payment of salaries and pensions
The governor said despite the hardship caused by the covid pandemic, and the economic meltdown, the state is not owing workers salaries as it has even surprised critics by paying workers 13th month salary for the second time running.
