Anambra traditional stool claimant docked for forgery.
The Police in Anambra State have arraigned one Chief Ben Ifeatu at Awka Chief Magistrate Court for alleged forgery of town union documents and false claims
The suspect, according to police prosecutor, Emmanuel Obiom to claimed Igwe-elect of Isiagu community in Awka South Local Government Area after forging signatures and documents of the town union.
Obioma said when the Isiagu Community Union was invited by the police,they said the documents were not from them.And when the Chief was asked to produce the signatories, he claimed they were all” dead”
The prosecutor said the offence which was committed on August 12,2012 at the height of the chieftaincy crisis in the community, contravened Sections 463 of the Criminal Code, which stipuates 3 years imprisonment for forgery and Section 362 – 364 of the Penal Code which requires 14 years improvement
The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Meantime, the Chief Magistrate,O.N Ike has adjourned the matter to January 20,
