The Yoruba activist and strongman, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho has appeared in public after the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and the Oyo state governor,Seyi Makinde ordered his arrest.
Igboho had given Fulani herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa local government area of Oyo state, 7 days within which to vacate the area.
The ultimatum caused chaos in the local government with several properties owned by herdsmen destroyed.
Igboho came out on Sunday, and addressed another rally in town after meeting with the new Police Commissioner,Ngozi Onadeko and her Deputy, without being arrested as ordered by the state governor and the Inspector General of Police.
He said the police had assured him of adequate security of the area as more police would be drafted to the area to maintain law and order and appealed to the people to cooperate with the police.
Igboho’s order to the herdsmen reached fever pitch as he sustained the momentum of his eviction order to the herdsmen who he claimed had been terrorising his people. He even dared governor Makinde over the quit notice and travelled to Ibarapa to effectuate the order.
