Group alleges ilegal recruitment into NDDC, asks Presidency to wade in
A rights group, Transparency, Accountability, Equity and Unity Network (TAEUN) ,has drawn the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to a recruitment scam in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) under the supervision of the interim Sole Administrator, Effiong Akwa.
The group asked the Presidency to stop the alleged recruitment until the ongoing forensic audit of the commission is concluded.
Publicity Secretary, of the TAEUN, Aniefok Ibange while speaking to reporters said that they were not against employment of new persons into the commission but such exercise must comply with due process of employment into the Federal Civil Service.
The group warned the Acting sole Administrator of the Commission and the Supervising Minister, Godswill Akpabio to desist from using the name of the President as cover to carry out secret recruitment into the NDDC adding that as believers of the rule of law ,they would resort to legal means to enforce their demands .
