The Supreme Court on Friday in Abuja upheld the decision of the Abuja Appeal Court which held that Frank Ibezim was wrongfully denied fair hearing by the trial court which heard the suit to ascertain the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC .
A five man panel of the Apex court dismissed the two appeals filed by Senator Ifeanyi Ararume against the candidature of Frank Ibezim for lacking in merit.
The Supreme Court also dismissed an appeal filed by the wife of late Senator Uwajumogu against Ibezim .
The Courts decision has crushed Ararume’s quest to become the authentic candidate of the APC and winner of the Imo North Senatorial byelection held on December 5,2020.
The Imo High Court had ruled in favour of Ararume when he approached the court on the grounds that he was denied the nomination of the APC.
The judgement did not last long as the Appeal Court in Abuja removed him as APC candidate and declared Ibezim as the authentic candidate of the APC.
