
A pastor of Living Faith Church,Afolabi Samuel has been sentenced to 3 years jn prison by the Lagos State Special Criminal Court for stealing$90,000 and N4, 500,000.
Samuel who was the treasurer and accountant of the church was arraigned before Justice Mojisola Dada on two counts charge of corruption and theft.
The EFCC said that the pastor and another, Blessing Kolawole who works at Covenant University,tied up the locks and put them back in their pockets for their benefit.
The Anti-Graft Agency accused the pastor who was hired by the church to oversee immigration of using his position to collaborate with others in the theft of chuch money.
The offences according to the commission are in accordance with the provisions of Section 278,285 and 490 of the Lagos State Penal Code No.11,2011.
His lawyer, Ogunwuyi ,noted that his guilt had tarnished his reputation and that of his parents and on the basis of that, prayed the court to do justice to his plea.

Ogunwuyi said Samuel used the money to pay his children’s school fees and also take care of his elderly parents.
The Judge then fined him 1,000,000 and ordered him to pay $90,000 to the church.
